Ghosts in the forest

There is nothing like the forest in the rain.

The suspension of life in the act of being created, sustained, and even destroyed, takes my breath away.

We trip through it like ghosts in our ponchos, listening, learning.

It’s like I can hear the very spirit of the earth speaking.

The forest is changing constantly right now.

It also feels like it is standing still.

It’s all so perfectly balanced, with no help or planning or interference from us.

Each tiny piece plays such an enormous role.

I love the woods because they remind me to stop worrying.  They remind me that my life has a plan and that it is unfolding as it should, and each tiny moment is significant.

“Come to the woods, for here is rest.” – John Muir
