Preparations

We had our first snow a couple of weeks ago.

Ever since then, the chill comes more and more, and the air’s constant whisper seems to be, “Get ready.”

We’ve been busy getting the cabin ready for winter.  Lots of preparations that will make us much warmer when winter really hits.

Lots of other preparations are going on, as well.

Over the next two weekends, we will have the last three Yoga for Congo events of the year.

So much goes into the planning and preparation.  So much time and love.

Being in a place where I feel so close to God has helped me to listen to my doubts less.  They are still there, but they aren’t so loud.  Sometimes, it feels like all my preparing will be for nothing.  Sometimes, it feels as though I missed something vital that other people were born with and I doubt myself so much.  But in the slow and steady preparations, I know I have done all I can.

All the wishing and hoping in the world is not going to change the fact that these women face horror and despair every day.  So I choose to move forward, and if just a few will join me, I believe we can make a difference.
