Finding herself

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)

and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles, and

milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;

and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and

may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.

For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea

Best things I have heard this week:

“This is the BEST day of my entire life!”

“I feel like this place has been waiting for me for a long time.”

“If we become super poor, can we just live on the beach all the time?”

“Mom, you feel a connection to the forest, right?  I feel a connection to the ocean.  I feel the sand and the waves and I know what they are feeling.”

    Well, Best-Beloved Mother of Surf-Dreamer, You have not only given your daughter roots filled with love; you’ve given her wings of terns and joyful skitter-feet of sandpipers. Noticed by one who loves both the mountain forests *and* the magic of tide pools and phosphorescence…
    Love to Everyone, and may God bless us, Every One!
